Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ¼ tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. chili sauce
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • ½ C. chicken stock
  • ¾ C. soy sauce
  • 1/3 C. honey
  • 3 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar
  • 1/3 C. brown sugar, packed
  • 2 Tbsp. corn starch
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 2 steaks, trimmed and sliced thin OR 1 pkg fatina
  • olive oil (for frying)
  • salt and pepper for seasoning
  • 1 head broccoli, steamed

Instructions

  1. Combine first 10 ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to boil
  2. Mix corn starch and water in small bowl, then whisk into sauce; return to boiling
  3. Reduce to simmer for 5-8 minutes
  4. season meat with salt and pepper
  5. heat pan on medium heat, add drizzle of olive oil
  6. fry meat 1-2 min. on each side until almost fully cooked (do not overcook)
  7. add meat to sauce and toss to coat
  8. Serve on a bed of rice
